The Birth Center in Bryn Mawr, PA (12 miles west of Center City Philadelphia), was founded in 1979 as a nonprofit, free-standing birth center to serve pregnant women who wanted more control over the birth of their children in a non-hospital setting.
The Birth Center is accredited by the accrediting body of the National Association of Childbearing Centers. In 2004 we celebrated our 5,000th birth.
The Birth Center is one of the oldest continually operational birth centers in the United States.
